Sum of line amounts is missing

What it means

The invoice must include the sum of all line net amounts (BT-106). This required total is missing; the rule does not check whether its calculation is correct.

Typical causes

  • The export template omits this total
  • The software leaves a zero total blank

How to fix it

  1. Recalculate the invoice totals in your software
  2. Ask your provider to export this total explicitly, including when it is zero
What the rule says (technical)

An Invoice shall have the Sum of Invoice line net amount (BT-106).

Add cbc:LineExtensionAmount to cac:LegalMonetaryTotal.
