What this validator checks for Netherlands

  • Dutch VAT IDs — both the classic mod-11 and the 2020 sole-trader mod-97 format
  • KvK and OIN electronic addresses against the EAS list
  • Reverse charge (AE) for cross-border services with VATEX-EU-AE
  • Peppol BIS 3.0 rules for buyer reference and specification identifier
  • Line and total calculations with expected values

Dutch VAT numbers since 2020

Sole traders received a new VAT identifier in 2020 that no longer contains their citizen service number. These numbers use a mod-97 check instead of the classic mod-11 check. InvoiceVerify accepts both and tells you when a number fails either check.
