Validate Factur-X invoices for the French reform

Since 1 September 2026 every French business must be able to receive e-invoices, and large companies and ETIs must issue them through a plateforme agréée. SMEs follow on 1 September 2027. Check your Factur-X files before your platform rejects them.

What this validator checks for France

  • Embedded XML extraction from the Factur-X PDF
  • Profile detection (MINIMUM, BASIC WL, BASIC, EN 16931, EXTENDED)
  • French VAT numbers (FR + key + SIREN) with the key calculation
  • VAT rates 20%, 10%, 5.5% and 2.1% computed per category
  • Mandatory parties, totals and payment information under EN 16931

Factur-X profiles and the reform

The French reform uses three core formats: Factur-X, UBL and CII. For Factur-X, the BASIC profile and above carry line-level data; MINIMUM and BASIC WL only carry header data and are not complete e-invoices. Your plateforme agréée may convert other formats, but sending a compliant core format avoids rejections.

Additional French mentions

French invoices must also show mentions such as late-payment penalties and the €40 recovery indemnity for B2B. Add them as invoice notes. The reform also introduces new mandatory data such as the SIREN of both parties and the category of operation; your platform will check those.
