Not receiving Peppol invoices: what to check
Also available in:NederlandsFrançais
If you are not receiving Peppol invoices, check that your exact participant ID is registered for the right document type. Then confirm that suppliers actually send through Peppol to that address rather than emailing PDFs or using another ID.
Check your receiving registration
An account in accounting software does not by itself prove that your Peppol receiving address is active. Your registration may be missing, use only one identifier scheme or support documents other than the invoices you expect.
Use the free Peppol ID lookup on this site to check your own address and its supported document types. For Belgian companies, check 0208 and 9925 separately; one registration does not automatically create the other.
- Confirm support for Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 invoices.
- Check credit note support separately.
- Compare the exact scheme and identifier with your supplier’s customer record.
Check for an old provider registration
After switching software or providers, your address may still route to the old receiving service. A successful lookup shows published receiving information, not that the document will appear in your new accounting inbox.
Ask your current provider to check the registration and coordinate any migration with the previous provider. If you have several participant IDs, confirm the receiving destination of each one.
Trace one missing invoice with the supplier
Give the supplier your exact scheme:identifier and ask for the invoice number, sending time and delivery status. An emailed PDF is not a Peppol delivery. If delivery is confirmed, ask your provider to trace the document and check pending imports or processing errors.
- Ask the provider to register or migrate the address if needed.
- Update suppliers after any address change.
- Avoid duplicate resends until the original delivery status is clear.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I send invoices without being registered to receive them?
- Sending capability does not prove that your receiving address is registered. Check receivability separately with your provider.
- Why do I receive invoices from some suppliers but not others?
- They may use different IDs, different document types or different delivery channels. Compare one successful invoice with one missing invoice.
- The lookup succeeds. Why is my inbox empty?
- Check the receiving provider, document type and delivery status. The invoice may be at an old provider or waiting for import into your software.
