Invoice specification is missing

What it means

The invoice must identify the specification it follows (BT-24). Without this information, it cannot be validated against the intended requirements.

Typical causes

  • No e-invoice specification is selected
  • The export template omits the specification identifier

How to fix it

  1. Select the specification required for the invoice in your software
  2. Ask your provider to include its identifier in CustomizationID for UBL or the guideline ID for CII
What the rule says (technical)

An Invoice shall have a Specification identifier (BT-24).

Add cbc:CustomizationID (UBL) or GuidelineSpecifiedDocumentContextParameter/ID (CII). For Peppol use urn:cen.eu:en16931:2017#compliant#urn:fdc:peppol.eu:2017:poacc:billing:3.0.
