BR-CO-17
VAT amount doesn’t match its calculation
ErrorEN 16931BT-117BT-116BT-119
Also available in:NederlandsFrançais
What it means
The VAT amount in a breakdown entry (BT-117) must equal its taxable amount multiplied by its VAT rate divided by 100, rounded to two decimal places. The amount does not match.
Typical causes
- VAT was rounded per line instead of on the breakdown’s taxable amount
- The taxable amount changed without recalculating VAT
How to fix it
- Check the taxable amount and VAT percentage for the affected breakdown entry.
- Multiply the taxable amount by the percentage ÷ 100, round to two decimals and update the VAT amount.

What the rule says (technical)
VAT category tax amount (BT-117) = VAT category taxable amount (BT-116) × (VAT category rate (BT-119) / 100), rounded to two decimals.
Calculate VAT per category on the taxable total (not per line) and round once to 2 decimals.
