What it means

The VAT breakdown for an intra-community supply (K) needs an exemption reason, as text or as a code.

Typical causes

  • The EU supply VAT code has no reason configured.
  • The reason appears only in the printed invoice.

How to fix it

  1. Open the intra-community VAT settings.
  2. Add code VATEX-EU-IC or a reason describing the intra-community supply.
What the rule says (technical)

A VAT breakdown with VAT category code 'Intra-community supply' shall have a VAT exemption reason code (BT-121) or text (BT-120).

Add cbc:TaxExemptionReasonCode VATEX-EU-IC or an equivalent reason text.
