Belgian enterprise number fails its check
WarningInvoiceVerifyBT-34BT-49
Also available in:NederlandsFrançais
What it means
The Belgian enterprise number labelled with scheme 0208 fails its check-digit calculation. This warning concerns the enterprise identifier, not a general VAT format check.
Typical causes
- A digit was mistyped or a leading zero was lost.
- Another identifier was labelled as a Belgian enterprise number.
How to fix it
- Check the party’s 10-digit number in the Belgian CBE/KBO/BCE register.
- Enter the full enterprise number, including any leading zero.
- Use scheme 0208 only for the Belgian enterprise number and validate again.
What the rule says (technical)
The Belgian enterprise number (scheme 0208) does not pass its mod-97 check.
Check the 10-digit KBO/BCE number of the party.
