How to send e-invoices from Sage

Peppol via partnerSage · 🇬🇧 🇫🇷 🇩🇪 🇧🇪

Sage’s electronic invoicing implementation depends on the product and country. For the documented Belgian Sage X3 route, outbound Peppol processing uses AP Automation and inbound communication uses an external solution.

Before you start

  • Identify the exact Sage product and country localisation.
  • For the Belgian X3 route, configure electronic invoice generation.
  • Arrange the documented outbound AP Automation service.
  • Confirm recipient identifiers and required invoice data with the service.

Step by step

  1. 1Confirm that the instructions apply to the installed Sage product and localisation.
  2. 2Configure the applicable electronic invoicing framework.
  3. 3For Belgian X3, configure the EINVMET parameter and XML output directory.
  4. 4Configure outbound processing through AP Automation.
  5. 5Create and check the invoice data.
  6. 6Process the outbound invoice through the configured service and review the result.

Why invoices from Sage get rejected

  • Do not configure Belgian X3 using the French Sage Network portal workflow: the guide distinguishes these routes.
  • Generating an XML file in a directory does not by itself transmit the invoice through Peppol.

Good to know

  • The slug covers a product family; these are not universal instructions for Sage Accounting, Sage 50 or Sage 300.
  • The partner classification is scoped to the documented Belgian X3 route.
  • The guide confirms XML generation but not a named output profile for this entry.
